If you’re travelling with horses or just like to bring along the four-legged members of the family, Osage Cottage is more than just pet-friendly. Your dogs and horses are invited guests at this vacation home conveniently located near Fredericksburg, VA. While Rover is welcome to stay in the cottage and romp on the 100-plus acres, your horses will bunk in style in our brand-new, 1,700-square-foot barn with five, 12’ x 12’ matted horse stalls, each equipped with fans. The barn also has a large tack room and cold wash rack. (take a look)
Spacious paddocks as well as miles of trails with jumps provide plenty of space to exercise your equine companions. And practically in Osage Cottage’s backyard is the Poni River (the confluence of the “Po” and the “Ni” rivers), making it close enough to explore by foot or horseback.
Stonewall Jackson died just a mile away at the Chandler plantation. After being shot at the Battle of Chancellorsville, he was taken to a small outbuilding on the plantation property to rest before his planned train trip to Richmond for medical attention.
